The f3 project Fuel options for public bus fleets in Sweden finished last year and KTH researchers Maria Xylia and Semida Silveira have now published a paper with the results from the project. The paper is published in the highly-ranked journal of Energy Policy (Elsevier).
Some findings that the authors highlight in the paper are:
The penetration of renewables in Swedish public bus fleets reached ca. 60% in 2014.
Public bus emissions per vehicle-km have decreased by 43% between 2007 and 2014.
Efforts are needed to improve energy efficiency in bus transport.
Electricity is likely to receive increased attention according to expert survey.
